Adam Rhine is an artist that has been creating ornate Judaica watercolor paintings since 1999. His style is heavily influenced by medieval illuminated manuscripts that he combines with palettes along with aesthetics. Born in Chicago in 1970, an incessant doodler and cartoonist grew up and chose to pursue art from a young age. He graduated with a diploma in Commercial Illustration from Northern Illinois University at age 22, and has been given by a jury the opportunity for a one-fifth series of 16 abstract fine artwork paintings during his senior season an award not generally awarded to a student majoring in commercial art. He married fellow artist Karen, his classmate.
In his life he has revived educational videos, coordinated the 2D/3D animation division for a video game company, executed site design and e-learning growth for leading corporations, and acted as Creative Director of an industry-leading furniture production firm. He is currently the Strategic Communications Manager for a major health care insurance company in Chicago.
Adam was interviewed by the Hallmark Channel to examine his artwork and inspirations, then from the Chicago Tribune in August, 2006 ahead of his book being published. His designs Also Have been featured on the covers of Kashrus Magazine, the Texas Jewish Post, The Exponent, along with Chadashot Magazine.
Adam’s 108-page hardcover art book, "Hebrew Illuminations," is released by Sounds True Inc.. The book contains all 22 Hebrew Illuminated Letters, and 22 pick designs from his continuing Magen David (Star of David) series. The significance and numerology behind each letter are written about in detail by Adam with insights to every Magen David painting, as well as the aid of both writer/teacher Louise Temple.
