Matt Fraction

Before linking Marvel Comics, writer Matt Fraction had established his reputation as an emerging new talent together with his work on Last of the Independents. Fraction’s tale of a bank robbery gone wrong gained him a “A” tier from Entertainment Weekly, as well as interest from Marvel. After taking on a brief story assignment in the anthology title X-Men Unlimited, Fraction has been handpicked to launch just two of Marvel’s biggest endeavors for 2006: Punisher War Journal with celebrity Ariel Olivetti, along with Immortal Iron Fist, together with co-writer Ed Brubaker and artist David Aja. Both show met with overwhelming critical and fan acclaim, promoting their individual first problems within days of release. This led to two even larger projects: The launching of Invincible Iron Man, a high profile original issue premiering the identical month since the blockbuster movie; and Uncanny X-Men, written in tandem with Immortal Iron Fist partner Brubaker. Besides his Marvel work, Fraction writes Casanova, an off-beat series exemplified by Gabriel Bá which recently transferred to Marvel’s teaser imprint. He's also a talented filmmaker and graphic designer, going up the MK12 firm with a global client base that includes Adidas, MTV and Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim. Fraction remains one of Marvel’s most well-known authors; additional credits include The Order and Thor: Ages of Thunder.
