I went into fairly much writer from fulltime stay-at-home mom for 20 years. My passion is my loved ones—my husband and I have seven darling grandkids and four kids! But because, if a mom does her job correctly, she finally puts herself from work, I'm delighted to have found my profession. I could not enjoy the writing life more.

I've had a couple of non-fiction books published and have led to many anthologies, as well as writing magazine articles. However, my first love is fiction. I've written over thirty novels. The fifth and final book in my Chicory Inn Novels series for Abingdon Press released in February 2017.

A typical writing day for me begins first—often previously 6 a.m.—using the business aspect of things: answering reader and e-mail email, updating my site, writing blog articles, reading for research. Our routine is much quieter now than it had been when we had four children at home. When my writing time starts mid-morning, I've got a routine that sets the point, picking music to write by starting with lighting candles that are scented, and brewing a cup of java. I've a cozy office that overlooks our front yard, but I frequently take my notebook out to the back deck where the birds, squirrels, ducks, geese, bunnies, along with an occasional egret (or possibly maybe a coywolf or bull sometimes!) Provide entertainment.

Believe it or not, my very first choice of actions for the day is READING—a terrific book, of course! As far as I enjoy the actual process of writing, I'm an extrovert by nature, and doubt I would last long in the business were it not for your business of several excellent online writers' groups, connecting with different authors at conventions and retreats, and also fulfilling aspiring writers once I teach at conventions across the nation.
