Alonda Williams is a wife and mom of 2. Within her job and company, she has seen firsthand the effects of negative self-concept and poor self-esteem. As a parent, Alonda has worked hard to develop strong character in her young children.
Professionally, Alonda is a marketing executive in Education technology for a Fortune 500 company in the Seattle area. She also holds an MBA and has done work at Fuqua School of Business at UCLA's Anderson School of Management and Duke University.
She now serves on the board of Hope WA and is a member of Jack and Jill of America and Delta Sigma Theta sorority Inc.. She has held positions with Big Brother/Big Sister and the Urban League.
Penny and the Magic Puffballs, Alonda' s first book began as a bedtime story for the children. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, her young daughter was the sole girl in her college. She frequently felt singled out because she looked different than most of her pals while she had lots of friends. Little women notice hair as one of the regions of difference. Seeing this difference as poor can result in a poor self idea. She also used the story as a way to assist her young daughter learn also to be more comfortable in her skin and how to love her hair. After viewing Penny assisted her daughter, she wanted to talk about the stories along with small girls.
Alonda is thrilled to have the ability to talk about the empowering concept of Penny and the magic puffballs with women throughout the world.
