I was born in Montana, and lived eighteen years on a ranch outside Two Dot at Central Montana. Afterwards we going to Alaska where we mined stone spending spare time hunting or fishing. On the lookout for a warmer lifetime we moved into Ellensburg, Washington where once again I was a rancher/farmer.

I became a potter and glass artist later in life, and possessed a few art galleries. I still miss getting my hands in the mud, or trimming a piece of glass to find out what that the kiln will return.

In 2000 I made a choice to travel and teach English as a second language, and it had been the best choice I have ever made. I have a love for overseas countries, and also have left my life amazing.

Educating and traveling for twelve years caused a desire to share these experiences with friends and family. I became more interested in composing and Big Backpack--Small World was one of the results.

My memoir of Alaska is full of fishing, biking, hunting, and mining for gold tales. We began our trip into Alaska in 1967, and for many years we spent of our free time hunting, and fishing. Even after the arrival of our daughter we ventured into the Brooks Range to reside in a cottage and mine.

All these are tales of the way Alaskans lived in the 60's and 70's while it was still the Last Great Frontier.
