Duncan is your selling author of short stories and fantasy novels, such as the Sword trilogy's Society. He practised as a barrister, and has Master's Degrees in Legislation, and History. Where he draws inspiration for his tales, he's particularly interested in the Medieval and Renaissance periods.

He resides in Ireland, close to the sea, and when not writing he loves sailing, scuba diving, windsurfing, biking, and skiing.

Duncan's debut novel, '' The Tattered Banner, placed 8th on BuzzFeed's 12 Greatest Fantasy Books Of The Year, 2013.
