Edith Layton (1938-2009) grew up in Queens, New York, and began writing when she was eight years old. Before publishing her first book, THE DUKE 'S WAGER she was employed as a freelance writer for newspapers and magazines. She won several awards, starting in 1984 with The Romantic Times Award for the Best New Regency Writer and The Romantic Times Reviewer's Choice Award: Best New Regency Author. She moved on to release more than 30 novels and many stories. Much of her out-of-print backlist has been reissued by Untreed Reads, in addition to never-before-published titles that are going to be coming soon.
