Dr. Elizabeth L. Jeglic is currently a Professor of Psychology at John Jay College in New York, NY. She received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Binghamton University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania under the mentorship of Dr. Aaron T. Beck where she specialized in the assessment and treatment for suicidal behaviour. Dr. Jeglic's research interests are mainly focused on topics broadly related to sex offender assessment, treatment and public policy and suicide risk evaluation. She has received grants from the National Institute of Justice and the American Association for Suicide Prevention to fund study. Dr. Jeglic has released over 85 peer reviewed articles and book chapters. Dr. Jeglic recently released a book entitled Sexual Offending: Evidence Based Legislation and Prevention. She is on the editorial board of Psychology, Public Law and Policy and is an Associate Editor of this Sexual Abuse: A Journal of Research and Treatment. In addition to Dr. Cynthia Calkins, she is co-Director of the Sex Offender Research Lab (SORL). She had been awarded the Fay Honey Knopp Award from the New State Association to the prevention of violence.
