Elizabeth Cadell was born in Calcutta, India in 1903. Through the Great War she returned to India where she married and had two kids and studied music however, refused a musical profession. She returned to England after she had been widowed ten years after.

Elizabeth wrote her first book 'My Dear Aunt Flora' through the Second World War in 1946, thereafter producing another 52 light-hearted, humorous and romantic publications that won her a loyal readership in England and America. She subsequently set several of her books and transferred in 1960 to Portugal. She expired in 1989, old eighty-five.
