I had been adopted at birth and raised with a fantastic couple. Even though we summered at Lake and Napa Tahoe, to avoid these 120 amount summers, I grew up in Palm Springs CA. I did locate my birth mum, who resides in Michigan with my half sister, after my parents died.

I studied journalism in college, but left college to marry, raise children and begin my own company--a video store, before the mega-chains were out there. After a divorce, I met with my current husband and we moved to Tahoe to turn into ski bums and try to locate our dreams. At that time, I proceeded into work for a small alternative media, writing editing and finally stories.

When we moved down the mountain into the Reno area, I started writing nonfiction books, a lot of which you may view here. The rest are viewable in my private website. I also continued to freelance articles for magazines and papers.

All that's changed, with the publication of my novel, CRANK, that has led to a valued career writing YA novels in verse, all of that explore the more difficult scenarios young adults often find themselves. Can I ever write one in prose? Without a doubt! However, for now, two demands: writing poetry and writing fiction are fulfilled by writing books in poetry. The mix is indeed interesting!
