Eugene Elkin Reviews

Eugene Elkin retired following a sixty year career as a pharmacist. During WWII he served in the Canadian military and many years later volunteered as a bagpiper using all the Semper1 Memorial Honor Detail in the Riverside National Cemetery in California. His affiliation with those Marines inspired him to have the protagonist from his novel, THE PHARMACIST, function as an undercover corpsman with the Marine Corps. After the war his personality described a number of the changes that he had observed through the years in pharmacy and medicine and studied pharmacy. We also have the chance to follow his life.
Mr. Elkin's first novel is eligible THE FRIENDSHIP and traces the journey of two young guys from Montreal, one Jewish and the other a French Catholic Roman Catholic. The story follows them during their service in the Canadian Black Watch Regiment through WWII and beyond.
When asked if that book was autobiographical he answered that if it were his wife could have either shot him or divorced him.
Currently Mr. Elkin is a retired pharmacist, also a retired bagpiper and a budding writer.
