Andrea Chesman is a food writer and the author of many cookbooks, Kitchen Know-How's Backyard Homestead Book, such as One-Dish Suppers, Recipes by the Root Cellar The New Vegetarian Grill, and revved up the Harvest. The Vegetarian Grill, her book received a 1999 National Barbecue Association Award of Excellence and also was nominated for a James Beard Foundation Book Award. She is also the writer of The Roasted Vegetable and 366 Delicious Ways to Cook Rice, Beans and Grains and co-author of The Classic Zucchini Cookbook and 250 Treasured Country Desserts. She was editor of Yankee Magazine Church Supper and Potluck Cookbook and editor of and contributor to the Family Circle Great Cook's Book. She also has edited several gardening publications. Her work appears in Mother Earth News and she's written such as Fine Cooking, Vegetarian Times, Organic Gardening, Cooking Light, Food & Wine, and Natural Health. She was a contributing editor for Vermont Life for and Edible Green Mountains.
Andrea Chesman resides in an historic farmhouse at Ripton, Vermont, where the poet Robert Frost stopped and in which she raised two sons. She is a dedicated gardener and preserves a lot of the food she raises or buys. When she's not at the kitchen or at the backyard, she broadcasts and indexes cookbooks for various publishers.
