Fred Vargas Reviews

Fred Vargas was born in 1957 in Paris. In addition to being a best-selling writer in France, she's an historian and archaeologist.
She worked in the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), which she joined in 1988. She later joined the Institut Pasteur, as a eukaryotic archaeologist.
She mainly writes authorities thrillers (policiers). They occur in Paris and comprise the experiences of Chief Inspector Adamsberg along with his team. Her curiosity about the Middle Ages is manifest in most of her books, especially through the man of Marc Vandoosler, a young expert in the period. Seeking Whom He May Devour was shortlisted from the British Crime Writers' Association for the Previous Gold Dagger award for best crime novel of the season, and the following year The Three Evangelists won the inaugural Duncan Lawrie International Dagger.
