Prior to beginning Energage twenty five years ago, Gary spent over fifteen years as a HR executive for large foreign organizations, including Exxon-Mobil, Shell, and Phelps Dodge. Gary and his associates at Energage have personally led over a hundred organizations throughout the practice of throwing out their performance analysis systems and replacing them with Catalytic Coaching. It's a program that has no grades/labels/name calling and it breaks the illusory link between a year's operation and this year's wages adjustment.

His customers range in size and scope, even though they have one thing in common -- they value their people and realize that formal talks about pay and functionality need to get updated to reinforce the critical manager-employee bond.

Gary and his wife Gail live in the north Georgia mountains. Although he travels almost always, when he's home he resides at a resort community -- along with a mountain gazing back on a river. He's got deer for pets. It's a terrific spot to think, write and reflect.
