Geoff Hohwald started playing banjo at 1964 in Columbus, Ohio that was a "hot bed of bluegrass” in the moment. While there Geoff analyzed banjo under John Hickman. He performed with a Number of Other great musicians there such as Bill Monroe’s last two guitar players Tom Ewing and Wayne Lewis, Other Musicians that Geoff played with in the Columbus region were Red Allen, Sandy Rothman, Sid Campbell., Dave Evans , Frank Wakefield, Hylo Brown, Buddy Thomas, The Fields Brothers, Landon Messer, Earl Taylor and Brian Aldridge. As arriving to Atlanta Geoff has played with Bear Creek at Underground Atlanta, at the Alliance Theatre for its Robber Bridegroom, with the Atlanta Pops Orchestra, and is one of the founding members of the Greater Atlanta Bluegrass Band. Geoff is largely known around the nation for his banjo teaching materials that are sold net. He's been collecting vintage tools for years and has played or owned all of the classic bluegrass tools and has assisted many musicians in the southeast field obtain timeless instruments.
