The information book states that readers would like to understand they're hearing from an experienced expert, and my own headshot should look friendly and professional. Check.

Personally, I despise author bio pics. Reading is theater of the mind, and I'd rather envision what the writer looks like than have his actual life image etched in my mind. Now you won't be able to have the blossom out of your mind. Scratching out your eyes won't help. Trust me on that one.
