Anna Hodges Oginsky
Anna Hodges Oginsky holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities from Michigan State University and a Master of Social Work in the University of Michigan. She's the creator of Heart Connected, LLC, a tiny Michigan-based workshop and retreat business that makes opportunities for visitors to listen in to their hearts and associate with the facts, wisdom, and energy held there.
Anna's work is inspired with connections she makes between spirituality, creativity, and community. As a writer, educator, and retreat facilitator, Anna believes in the power of sharing tales - the notification, the listening, and the incorporating. In her job she employs healing practices like writing, artwork, meditation, and yoga to assist participants get the tales held within their hearts.
Anna's first book, My New Friend, Grief, arrived because of years of studying to tune in to her own heart following the sudden loss of her father. Anna shares her story with the intent of bringing to light that the anxieties and feelings a lot of us face in despair, but often don't have the space or support to research. Beyond the reduction of her father, Anna pulls from all her private life experiences to show how making space for her grief, and atmosphere in general, allows her to today live in a richer, more meaningful way.
Anna also teaches online at Brave Girl University. In addition, She's a Certified Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) and Reiki Master. She lives in Brighton, Michigan with her husband, and their three children, and Johnny, the huge yellow dog.
