Gregg Oppenheimer

Gregg Oppenheimer, son of “'' I Love Lucy” creator-producer-head author Jess Oppenheimer, started his or her#x201c;comedy profession” at the age of four, when his father introduced him to Lucille Ball on the set of I LOVE LUCY. Kneeling down, a grinning Lucy requested Gregg, “Who did you get those enormous brown eyes? &Gregg #x 201d & #x 2019;s deadpan reply: “They came with the face. ” Lucy nearly fell over laughing.

Following a short stint as a rehearsal cameraman on “The Debbie Reynolds Show,” Gregg left Hollywood for M.I.T., at which he acquired a diploma in Art and Design, then a law degree in 1977 from U.C. Berkeley. Back in 1986 Gregg became a leader at the Global law firm of O’Melveny & Myers (headed by Clinton Secretary of State Warren Christopher).

After Jess Oppenheimer’s death in 1988, Gregg spent several years doing research in his spare time to complete his dad’s unfinished memoirs. In the process he had been one of the world’s foremost authorities on &#x 201d; I Love Lucy, & #x 201c; renewing friendships. Gregg decided to quit practicing law to pursue a writing career.
