Ann Cook is the author of this best-selling American Accent Training text, also published by Barron's in 1991, 2000 and 2012. (Also printed in China, Japan, Korea and India.) Her speciality expanding and is currently tailoring substances for specific conditions, because in her three books to parents of students, How Can Your Child Read? How Can Your Child Write? How Well Does Your Child Do Math?

Cook analyzed Spanish Literature at the California State University in Los Angeles, spent a year in the Institut d'Études Françaises at Aix-en-Provence, a month studying Spanish together with the Peace Corps language application in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, and five decades in Japan at the Japanese Culture and Language Institute at Tokyo.

Along with her regular teacher instruction, Cook has trained a dozen Americans to teach in Korea, and countless Korean high school pupils who came to the US for their own schedule. Her firm, American Accent Training, Inc., has provided training for various heads of firms, post-graduate students, engineers and IT employees. American Accent Training is utilized across the globe at private and public colleges, universities and corporate training programs.

Cook also developed an online learning program for its American accent and culture for blended learning in the overseas call center market, including assessments, industry-specific modules, and revenue modules, and overall cultural advice, delivered through a Moodle platform.


American Accent Training, Inc., based in 1986 and incorporated in 1997, is a virtual language training firm with teachers across the United States. All AAT instructors have a masters degree or PhD and are intensively trained specifically for emphasis acquisition.
