H.L. Stephens grew up in with the crazy marshlands and pristine beaches of Charleston, SC since the background of her childhood experiences. Growing up in a home, Stephens met individuals from all around the world that helped nurture her desire to create amazing and new realms for other people to explore and to inspire her imagination.

By day, Stephens works for a software company close to her house in the Appalachian mountains. In her spare time, she's devoted to weaving tales. Writing in a variety of genres from mystery to fantasy, Stephens continues to discover the options of fascinating and new areas.

Stephens is owned by a beautiful Pomeranian appointed Sassafras Marshmallow Muffin who's her constant companion and composing partner. "I have always had pets during my entire life, but in so many ways, Sassy is the better half of my soul."

Stephens is now working on the release of her third Mister Marmee book and also the first novel in a brand new fantasy series.
