Hersh Shefrin is among the pioneers in the behavioral approach to economics and finance. The January 2001 issue of CFO magazine lists him among the actors of fund. A 2003 article from the American Economic Review listed him among the top economic theorists to have influenced empirical work.
Back in 2009, '' Hersh's book Beyond Greed and Panic was known by J.P. Morgan Chase among the best ten novels released since 2000. This novel was the first comprehensive treatment of behavioral finance, composed for professionals.
Hersh's other publications focus sharply on the use of behavioural thoughts to certain topics in finance and economics. The overarching theme in his novels is what he now calls "behavioralizing finance." Licensed Corporate Finance is your very first and only textbook specializing in the behavioral issues in corporate finance. A Behavioral Approach to Asset Pricing investigates the behavioral structure of the market's DNA, technically called the pricing kernel. Behavioral Risk Management, his latest publication, provides risk managers with tools they can integrate.
Hersh obtained his Ph.D. from the London School of Economics in 1974. He also holds an honorary doctorate from the University of Oulu, Finland. He's frequently interviewed by the press and BBC-TV profiled his job at February 2014.
