J.D. Greear is the lead pastor of The Summit Church, in Raleigh-Durham, NC and Writer of Gospel: Recovering the Power that Made Christianity Revolutionary (2011), Stop Asking Jesus to Your Heart: The Way to Know for Sure You're Performed (2013), along with Jesus, Continued…: Why the Spirit Inside You Is Far Better Than Jesus Beside You (2014).

God has blessed The Summit Church with enormous growth. Under J.D.’s leadership, the Summit has grown from a plateaued church of 300 to one of almost 9,000, which makes it one of Outreach magazine’s “leading 25 fastest-growing churches in the usa” for several years running.

J.D. has also led the Summit to further the kingdom of God by pursuing a daring vision to plant one million new churches by the year 2050. The church has shipped over 550 people to function on church planting teams, both domestically and globally. J.D. completed his Ph.D. in Theology at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary where he can be a faculty member, composing on the correlations between ancient church demonstrations of the gospel and Islamic theology. Having lived and served among Muslims, he has a burden to view them, as well as every state on earth, come to know and adore the salvation of God in Christ.

He along with his lovely wife Veronica live in Raleigh, NC and therefore are raising four ridiculously adorable kids: Kharis, Alethia, Ryah, and Adon.
