James has travelled for work and pleasure. After running an independent record label in Sheffield for five decades, he then spent several months in rural Gloucestershire before finishing up in the BBC, operating in what was afterward the nascent teletext service called Ceefax. Following a brief spell at CNN he returned to the BBC, now for a broadcast jounalist with BBC World Service. Along with the British Council and the BBC Trust, he taught journalism in Morocco and Tunisia. Apart from producing programmes and broadcasting radio packages, he's written over 200 features for BBC Online. He has recently completed a biography of this Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus.
