James Courtney

Jim Courtney been a client since 2005 and has experienced communications.

More than a 25 year period he served as General Manager of the Canadian subsidiary of four large tech businesses, such as a PC hardware vendor as well as the major vendor of a software utility for DOS. He then spent two years at the U.S. headquarters of this software company involved with sales, marketing and business development tasks, such as a number of the initial software programs for use on the emerging Web. One of those products was a first attempt at making voice calls.

When providing business development services for healthcare and other Internet-based companies, he started using Skype; this resulted in a beta testing of Skype add-on products he published some blog articles. Editors at Skype Journal asked to republish these is now now history.

Considering that 2006 he has authored over 800 blog articles about Skype, smartphones and IP-based communications in Voice On The Web and previously at Skype Journal, both independent weblog books.

His background includes almost forty years of global business communications expertise as a sales and marketing executive and consultant in small to moderate technology business environments. Twenty five years' experience as a user and observer of Internet communications technologies combined with six years of covering Skype™, additional IP-based communications programs and tablets as either a blogger and consultant have led to his history.
