My association with all Yellowstone goes back to early childhood days after my parents worked in Old Faithful Inn. My love of Yellowstone Park could be traced to memories of awaiting geysers to erupt, visiting with rangers, attending slide displays and sing-alongs from the amphitheater, enjoying hide-and-seek from the inn, and watching as my father assigned passengers into the huge yellow tour excursions.

Knowing about my connection to and enjoy the park is exactly what led to a friend to ask if I wanted to collaborate to update the long-popular "Haynes Guides" into Yellowstone (which went out of print from the 1960s). Although this project was dropped from by the friend, the momentum took hold, and that I was hooked!

Taking extended field trips once or twice a summer, studying, researching, and writing throughout the other seasons, I took five years to create "Yellowstone Treasures," which premiered in January 2002. A edition of Yellowstone Treasures was printed in 2005, and additional editions came out in 2013 and 2009. My first plan was to keep updating and advertising that the guidebook for as long as I could or before I attained 80 years old—but I have passed that milestone and, as of June 2016, I also have two other Yellowstone publications to my credit.

The most amazing founder of these 37 maps from "Yellowstone Treasures," Linton Brown, has also donated maps into another two books.
