Jayla knew she needed to be a novelist at age 15. Her “exactly what would you wish to be if you grow up” dream was to sell a book her old year, proceed to California, visit UCLA, and wed David Lee Roth. Regrettably that career path didn’t pan out, so that her first job was employed as a secretary with an egg farm in East Texas, where she learned that there is a ideal place and a wrong place to have the song “Kiss You All Over” from Exile on continuous repeat on a boom box. After high school, Jayla’s mother forced her join the Army to help pay for school, and she made it through basic instruction by a fanatic luck of the draw, because she is far more interested in manicures than M-16s. With the dream of being a novelist still undamaged after returning in coaching, Jayla majored in English in the University of Oklahoma, and started composing Caribbean Jewel promptly after graduation.

Jayla speaks fluent Spanish and has been proven to salsa dance together with the resort staff at Costa Rican hotels upon event. She is a professional vegan soup fighter (in her own mind) and enthusiastic Xbox/PS4 roleplaying gamer. In fact, her second book, fantasy romance of the Assassin, has been inspired by means too much time spent playing Assassin’s Creed, Dragon Age Origins, and Oblivion.
