Jeff Allen grew up in Portland, OR searching snakes, snakes, and another type of monster he could detect in suburban locations along with his friends. In high school he played baseball well, wrote for the school paper, and chased women who have little to no success.
Afterwards, he moved to college--a number of them --and finally graduated with a Bachelor's degree in history and a minor in English. After that, he attempted writing the excellent American novel when working at the Olive Garden. Like chasing girls in high school, this also was mostly unsuccessful (although I did have to eat a great deal of cheap, greasy, Americanized Italian meals free of charge).
Eventually, Jeff climbed up and acquired a job as an English teacher, which he still retains. In his free time, he writes... and goes fishing along with skis and decks and cooks and enjoy fantasy football (I know, I understand). His first novel, Cherry City Pulp, is a dark satire about contemporary life, narrative ending in a terrible school shooting--however, the puzzle is how it gets there and also what finally happens to the figures-- at least among which you're sure to adore.
