Jeffry Odell Korgen
Jeffry Odell Korgen Is Currently co-author of The Real Price of Low Costs: The Violence of Globalization, Second Edition (Orbis, 2013).He's also the author of Solidarity Will Change the World: Stories of Hope by Catholic Relief Services (Orbis Books, 2007), My Lord and My God! : Engaging Catholics in Social Ministry (Paulist Press, 2007), and co-editor of residing God’s Justice: Reflections and Prayers (St. Anthony Messenger Press, 2006). His posts on pastoral planning , Catholic social teaching, community organizing, and youth ministry also have appeared in publications such as CHURCH, Ministry and Liturgy, Social Policy, and America.
He currently works as Executive Director of the Department of Diocesan Planning and Communications for the Diocese of Metuchen. As a social justice teacher he staffed the Archdiocese of New York Department of Social and Community Development along with The ROUNDTABLE Association of Diocesan Social Action Directors at the National Pastoral Life Center from 1998-2008. A native of Slidell, Louisiana, Jeff holds degrees in social work, pastoral ministry, and doctrine from Boston College.
Jeff has also worked in community organizing (Brockton Interfaith Community) interfaith connections (Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Boston) and youth ministry (Immaculate Conception Church at Springfield, MO).
Jeff lives in the Township of Montclair, New Jersey, with his spouse, sociologist Kathleen Odell Korgen and brothers Julie and Jessica.
