Jennifer Garvey Berger

As a teacher, author, writer, and mentor, Jennifer Garvey Berger assists individuals and teams to change themselves and their organizations, to see views, to think in more creative ways, and to cooperate to think of thoughts that are collective. Together with her partners in Cultivating Leadership, Jennifer runs transformational leadership applications and encourages organizations to utilize their leaders (and leadership advancement) to encourage and support whole-of-organization change. Jennifer has worked closely with executives in a set of organizations like Microsoft, Fidelity Investments, the New Zealand Department of Conservation, and Lion, helping leaders increase their own capacity to think well about problems and people.

Jennifer blogs about leadership development at its Center for Public Leadership at the Kennedy School of Government in Harvard University and at becomealeader.org. She has published books and articles on coaching, leadership, adult development , and human and organisational change. She also teaches coaches and advisers about these ideas at universities all over the world. Jennifer has a masters and a doctorate from Harvard University.

Before an associate professor at George Mason University in Virginia, Jennifer learned about profound change in 2006 when she recently turned down the tenure offer and proceeded into New Zealand along with her husband, two children, and the pet. Now she often looks to the writing, raises hens and resides on the beach that she can perform in a airplane ride. Eschewing equilibrium to get a life that feels like pleasure across the board, Jennifer enjoys that her entire life is a blend of supporting leaders from the general public and private industry across the world and watching the sun.
