Jesse J. Holland is an award-winning author and journalist who is the author of the new novel, "The Invisibles: The Untold Story of African American Slavery Within The White House," named as the 2017 silver trophy award winner in U.S. History from the Independent Publisher Book Awards and also one of the greatest history publications of 2016 by Smithsonian.com.

Jesse is also the author of the beloved "Black Men Constructed The Capitol: Discovering African American History In and about Washington, D.C.," along with being an accomplished fiction writer as the author of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens - Finn's Story" along with the co-creator of the late, lamented comic strip, "Hippie and the Black Guy."

Along with his books, Jesse is also the Race & Ethnicity writer for The Associated Press, as well as a former White House, Supreme Court and Congressional writer for the world's largest news organization.

Holland hails from Holly Springs, Mississippi, and graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Liberal Arts degree with an emphasis in journalism and English. He also received his Master of Fine Arts in Creative Nonfiction.
