John Enright was born in Buffalo, New York. After serving stints in the Lackawanna steel manufacturers along with semi-pro baseball, he also earned his degree in City College of New York while operating at Fortune, Time, and Newsweek magazines. Before committing the 1970s to the industry in Hong Kong, San Francisco, and New York he later completed a master & #x2019 degree in folklore in UC-Berkeley. In 1981, he made the United States to teach at the American Samoa Community College and spent another twenty years residing on the islands of the South Pacific. Over the past four years, his books, articles, short stories, and poems have appeared in over seventy books, anthologies, newspapers, periodicals, and magazines. His collection of poems against Samoa won the University of the South Pacific Press’s International Literature Contest. Ceramicist Connie Payne, he and his spouse, live in Jamestown, Rhode Island today.
