John Snyder attended the University of Chicago, grew up in North and South Carolina, and moved to New York City in 1959. Recently retired as an Executive Director of Morgan Stanley, he worked as a purchaser at Bloomingdales, and also head of research to get a rug maker. On the way, he was awarded seven patents, created an industrial film which wrote 2 plays, and won first place in the New York Film Festival. Throughout his career he maintained a machine shop for making prototypes of turning and inventions found objects . He proceeds to make sculpture (www.jaycat2.com), and has written this memoir. He and his wife divide their time between New York City and Cedar Mountain, North Carolina.
