John Seely Brown (JSB) is a visiting scholar and advisor to the Provost at University of Southern California (USC) and the Independent Co-Chairman of their Deloitte’s Center for the Edge. Prior to this he had been the Chief Scientist of Xerox Corporation and the director of its Palo Alto Research Center (PARC)—a place he held for nearly two years. He was a cofounder of the Institute for Research on Learning (IRL). He is a member of the National Academy of Education and the American Academy of Sciences and Arts.
JSB is an avid writer, traveler and motorcyclist. Part scientist, part artist and part strategist, his views are exceptional and distinguished.
His unofficial name is now Chief of Confusion focusing on assisting individuals ask the perfect questions and make sense from a constantly changing universe.
