John Neel Reviews

John Neel is a fine art photographer whose skills and interests include digital imaging, digital and conventional photography, stereo photography, movie sound, 3D animation and new media. Perpetually pushing at the limitations of his job, John likes playing techniques, the process that is creative and experimental imaging that photography offers.
John is the author of the recently released book Rethinking Digital Photography by Sterling - Pixiq. The book was called a "Best of - 2011" by the Library Journal. It was also selected as one of the "Top Eleven Best Sellers of 2011" by Sterling Pixiq Books. Newly published in July, this book looks at methods to catch the world using contemporary photograph tools and traditional. His book is scheduled for release sometime in November 2016.
An expert in digital imaging, John enjoys creating images utilizing such things as easy lenses, pinholes and zone plates, analog cameras and non-traditional imaging methods. John blends established techniques drawn from the historic evolution of photography with cutting edge procedures as much at home with Photoshop because he's using a 4x5 camera. His vision and ability explores the past, present and future of photography.
John's work has been exhibited in public and private galleries and featured in magazines in the United States, Canada and Europe. He's taught creativity, art, digital imaging and photography in colleges and major universities in North America.
First and foremost a photographer, John is among other matters, a retired instructor of photography and digital imaging and Kodak graphic designer who lives and creates from upstate New York.
