Joyce McFadden is a psychoanalyst and author of the groundbreaking book Your Daughter's Bedroom: Insights to Raising Confident Women. Based on her unprecedented analysis of 450 girls, in it was her study's girls who ascertained the publication’s subject girls learn in their mothers about sexuality. Currently being educated in college girls’s studies applications, Your Daughter’s Bathrooms is considered “an empowering resource for mothers and wives everywhere" from Publishers Weekly, and "a fascinating and empowering text for most girls of all ages" by Kirkus Review. In 2014 she spoke in the United Nations since the U.S. specialist on women’ sexual development and its connection to their general assurance, participating with co-panelists in WHO, UNESCO, UNICEF and also Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health in announcing the United Nation’s first-ever policy on puberty schooling and menstrual hygiene management. McFadden has an MSW from Columbia University and five years of postsecondary training in psychoanalysis, is now a faculty member, training analyst and clinical manager at the Training and Research Institute for Self Psychology, board member of the National Council on Women’s Health, and associate of the Women’s Mental Health Consortium.
