Judith S. Beck
Judith S. Beck, Ph.D., is an eminent clinician and educator who previously served as manager of Clinical Services at the Center for Cognitive Treatment and now serves as president of Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy. She's also clinical associate professor of psychology in psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania. She received her doctoral degree from Penn in 1982.
Dr. Beck directs the three Big functions of Beck Institute:
Professional instruction and training in cognitive therapy
Dr. Beck divides her time one of government, supervision and teaching, clinical work, program development, study, and writing. She was a consultant for many National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) research, has developed widely adopted assessment scales for kids and adolescents, and has presented hundreds of workshops nationally and internationally on various applications of cognitive therapy. She is also a Distinguished Founding Fellow and Past President of the Academy of Physical Therapy.
Dr. Beck has written almost 100 articles and chapters on different facets of cognitive treatment. She is the writer of the primary text in the field, that is translated into 20 languages, in addition to books, workbooks, along with pamphlets for customers. Her publications include:
