Karen Shanor, Ph.D is a medical and neuropsychologist, a former White House adviser and also an advisory member of Discovery Channel Global Education. Dr Shanor studied how cats dream, and also how rats learn. Animal research was included by her work in NASA's Life Sciences department on memory and information theory, and she has taught with Karl Pribram at Georgetown University since 1998. She was a consultant for a wildlife conservatory. A frequent lecturer at the Smithsonian Institution, '' Dr Shanor also hosted an NBC radio programme and appears often on The Today Show, CBS Nightly News, Dateline, Larry King Live and Oprah, also is now a regular contributor to CNN.
