Kathy grew up in Santa Cruz California where her passion for vegan cooking, food photographs family and art began. She retains a B.S. in American University (Washington DC) at Health Promotion.

Kathy began her popular vegan food blog Healthy. Joyful. Life. Without imagining her blog, in 2007, cookbook writing and food photography would eventually become her entire time profession.

She lives in Los Angeles, California and enjoys shore times, farmers markets and sipping smoothies in the home along with her husband and cherished cat "Nelly."
