Dr. Arthur Agatston is the Medical Director of Wellness and Prevention to Baptist Health South Florida. A leader in coronary artery, Dr. Agatston’s function with Dr. Warren Janowitz resulted in the Agatston Score, a method of screening for coronary artery calcium as an indicator of atherosclerosis that is utilized at medical facilities throughout the world and considered by most experts to be the best single predictor of a future heart attack. Dr. Agatston is currently a clinical professor of medicine at Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine and an associate professor of medicine in the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. His cardiology practice in Miami Beach is focused on preventing heart attacks in high-risk sufferers.

Dr. Agatston has printed over 100 scientific articles and abstracts in medical journals, including the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Circulation, the American Journal of Cardiology, and the Annals of Internal Medicine. Among his numerous television appearances, Dr. Agatston was featured together with President Bill Clinton on Sanjay Gupta’s 2011 CNN special, “The Last Heart Attack. ” He's a frequent lecturer on diet, coronary artery imaging, and also the prevention of heart disease both nationwide and internationally and acts as a speaker, faculty member, and also secretary of many instructional cardiology meetings and symposia. Dr. Agatston has also served as a professional adviser to the Clinical Trials Committee of the National Institutes of Health and has served on committees of the American Society of Echocardiography, the American College of Cardiology, and the Society of Atherosclerosis Imaging.
