Kay Moser is a native of historic Nacogdoches, Texas, deep in the piney woods of east Texas. Her childhood days were spent "playing make believe" under the magnolia trees or "putting on plays" utilizing the broad front verandah as a stage. Story telling was a significant form of entertainment in both the white and black cultures that surrounded her.
Naturally enough, when Kay began to compose her own stories, she turned into the settings, people and social interactions she knew best.
Always fascinated by history, particularly social background and what we can learn from those who have lived before us Kay chooses to interweave a contemporary plot using a historic plot in a number of her novels. Her books reveal the universal spiritual and psychological journeys which most people today take at any point in their lives. She intentionally avoids portraying graphic violence or sexuality (preferring to leave space to get the reader's imagination in these regions) and avoids profane or vulgar language.
