Kerry-Lee Powell was born in Montreal and has lived in the United Kingdom, Australia and Antigua, where she studied Medieval and Renaissance Literature.
Her poetry has appeared in MAGMA, Ambit and The Spectator. Her fiction has been published in The Malahat Review, The Boston Review and also the Virago Press Composing Women series. She has been nominated for a National Magazine Award and a Pushcart Prize. Back in 2013 she won The Boston Review fiction contest, The Malahat Review’s Far Horizons award for short fiction as well as the Alfred G. Bailey screenplay decoration. A chapbook entitled & The Wreckage #x 2018 & #x 2019; was printed in the United Kingdom by Grey Suit Editions at 2013, and book and a novel of short fiction will be forthcoming from HarperCollins. Inheritance is her first book.
