Kenneth Barrett Reviews

Kenneth Barrett is a journalist who was born in London and who's spent half his life in the Far East. He has lived in Thailand, Singapore and Hong Kong, and has travelled to the majority of the countries on assignment. He's also familiar with parts of South America and the Middle East. A freelancer, he has written for magazines and papers of all types and has had regular columns on meals, novels, TV humour and criticism. Back in Hong Kong he had been a guest on TV and radio stations.

Barrett's best interests combine travel with architecture and history, and this has resulted in the publication of 22 Walks in Bangkok: Exploring the City's Historic Back Lanes and Byways. The book is a journey on foot through Bangkok's areas, by describing how each evolved bringing the city to life, describing the landmarks, and about some of the curious tales that he found along the way. Barrett is an accomplished photographer, and the book is illustrated by his photographs.
