I was born in Ohio in 1960 and moved to California in 1969, where I finished college, started and fulfilled two careers, lost a thirteen-year marriage, and almost a moment at the fast paced world of Orange County, California. In forty-one, a life time's worth of joyful successes and fantastic pains behind me, my wife Rachelle (Chelle), step daughter, and I moved to Amarillo, Texas, to be closer to all of my kids and see what God might do to mend our family that was too long. Fifteen years later, the kids are grown and moved off, and God has shown Himself faithful to heal and redeem.
Within my trip, the west west coast, and southern Bible-belt cultures I have lived in, have united to make me a person of strong work ethics, creative pursuits, strong faith and kindness. I'm a unique combination of creative design and saying, nerdish detailed administrative skills, and the capability to inspire, lead and manage, all in the ferocious pursuit of serving others, particularly my loved ones. Our four adult kids include—as I like to place it#x2014;"among each sort;" birth, step, adopted, along with a god-daughter. My extended family includes a number of increased foster children who still call me Dad.
I came to Christ as a teen during the height of the Jesus movement in the early seventies. I grabbed the fire for serving Christ while at high school and have never looked back. My faith was strengthened and thrived as a youth pastor for nearly ten decades, but then was analyzed through career changes, a divorce and the near collapse of another marriage. It had been my second wife, Chelle’therefore, enormous brain tumor which God used to entice us to reestablish our relationship. This was more than twenty decades back and Rachelle and I are still married, much more in love than ever before, and still recovering joyfully together.
