In early September of 1983, David Lu started Lite Source, Inc. together with the mission to supply the retail sector a varied and wide array of fashion-forward modern lighting designs at reasonable price points. Equipped with vast knowledge, contacts and experience in both China and Taiwan, David set out to import from just the most reliable suppliers both original and distinctive lighting designs which represented the most up-to-date technology.

Fast-forward 30-years to 2013 and David Lu not merely accomplished his first mission for Lite Source; he also has built the business into a powerhouse leading supplier of contemporary, youth oriented and transitional/traditional lamps and lighting, in addition to coordinating accessories and accent furniture. Now the company boasts different divisions for all those different product categories such as Lite Source Classic, including transitional and traditional styles, Lite Source Kids, an innovative youth-oriented line of lamps and colors, LSI Furniture, and Elite, the business's most upscale collection using the best materials. And of course the first Lite Source brand, that provides America's biggest variety of contemporary lamps and lighting, while keeping those exact common price points. The business manufactures its designs in China and boats from the recently gained 183,000-square foot corporate headquarters and distribution facility in Chino, California.
