USA TODAY Bestselling Writer Melissa F. Miller was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Although life and love led her to Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and, ultimately, South Central Pennsylvania, she secretly still considers Pittsburgh house.

In college, she majored in English literature using concentrations in creative writing poetry and biblical literature and was STUNNED, upon graduation, to find out that there is not just a work market for such a diploma. After working as an editor for several years, Melissa returned to school to earn a law degree. She was the annoying girl who adored class and constantly raised her hand. She is clerked for a federal judge, worked for major global law firms, also began a two-person law firm with her attorney husband.

Today, powered by java, she writes crime fiction and also homeschools her children. When she's not writing, and occasionally when she is, Melissa travels around the country in an RV with her husband, three children, and their cat.
