Barbara Altman, author of Recovering from Depression, Stress, and Psychosis: My Journey Through Mental Illness, also earned a bachelor of music degree from Fontbonne University and taught music theory and piano in St. Louis Institute of Music. A lifelong resident of Webster Groves, Missouri, Altman offers therapeutic music at local nursing homes and teaches guitar, piano, and keyboard at her dwelling. She's currently a member of the Missouri Music Teachers' Association, the National Music Teachers' Association, The Piano Teachers' Round Table, and Music Teachers' Federation
