Berta Arias, Ed.D., is enthusiastic about everybody and everything to whom to which she adds her time and attention. An accomplished Cuban-America lady with many talents, throughout her 40-year career as a professor in world languages and global education, she created helping others, rescuing communities and bringing beauty and learning through the arts that a foundation of her being. She served as the first Board President of the Illinois Latino Council on Higher Education, (ILACHE) where she has financed a scholarship to Excellence in Writing.
Not happy with giving only monetary support, she provides the winning pupils her private time that helps them achieve their objectives. By composing poetry and short stories throughout her career, Arias has steered her imagination. Now on her next period of existence, she's moved from Chicago to Amelia Island, Florida, and if she isn't championing the cause of trees, the environment, libraries and education, she is reveling in writing her books. Mango Rain, her first publication, at its second edition, is a amazing story of beauty, intrigue and love that spans Havana and also Chicago. She is at work on the prequel story due out in early summer of 2016.
