Adam Raider's first paid writing job was as a reporter at The Winsted Journal, a weekly newspaper in Connecticut’s Northwest Corner. There, he coated education government and crime. Lowlights of the reporting career comprised Winsted Police into the forests.
A fervent hockey fan who shares a birthday with Bruins legend Bobby Orr, Adam finally left the community newspaper business to embark on a new career as a freelance sportswriter. His work appeared in magazines such as Street, Hockey Digest and The Hockey News & Smith’s Sports Business Journal.
Adam has authored or co-authored three novels on hockey. His earliest, 100 Ranger Greats, had been a collaborative effort with Russ Cohen and the late John Halligan. Rounding out his baseball trilogy are all Frozen in Time: 100 Things and A Minnesota North Stars History Rangers Fans Should Know & Do Until They Die. His book was another alliance with Russ Cohen The Biggest Numbers in Mets History.
