BJ Bourg is an award-winning puzzle writer and former professional boxer who hails from the swamps of Louisiana. Assessing the “real deal” from other mystery writers, he has spent his entire adult life resolving offenses as a patrol cop, detective sergeant, also principal investigator for a district attorney’s office. Not only does he understand his way round crime scenes, interrogations, and courtrooms, but in addition, he functioned as a police sniper commander (making the name of “Leading Shooter” in an FBI sniper school) along with a police academy instructor.

BJ is a four-time traditionally-published novelist (his debut book, JAMES 516, won the 2016 EPIC eBook Award for Best Mystery) and dozens of his own articles and stories are published in national magazines such as Woman’s World, Boys’ Life, and Writer’s Digest. He's a frequent contributor to two of the nation’s major law enforcement magazines, Order and Law and Tactical Response, and he has taught at conferences for law police officers, tactical police officers, and writers. Above all else, he is a husband and father, and the highlight of his life is spending some time with his beautiful wife and amazing children.
