William “#x & Bill201d; Stackpole served from 1968 to 1973 after and grew up in Connecticut. When microprocessors were released to test gear he became interested in computer engineering he had been repairing and calibrating. Before going into the firm in 1990 where he began focusing on computer security, he worked as a computer repair tech, network engineer, and technology supervisor for 12 years on the Department of Defense. Bill holds a BS degree in Management Information Systems, as well as, a CISSP certificate using an Architecture Professional acceptance from (ISC)2. Bill has served in Many of different abilities at (ISC)2 including chairman of the CISSP Test Development Committee and membership in the Frequent Body of Knowledge committees for the CISSP and ISSAP certifications. He has co-authored, Bill is also a regular contributor to this Handbook on Information Security Management by Tipton and Krause.

Over the pass 15 years Bill has served in a number of different capacities such as his current position as Information Security Architect for World Vision and former ranks as Principle Security Architect for Microsoft Online Services, Lead Security Architect for Microsoft Consulting Services, Managing Consultant at the Microsoft Security Center of Excellence along with Principle Security Consultant at Predictive System. He is famous for his keen insights to information security issues and his ability to put complex concepts into understandable and clear terms.
